  1. Upon reading a number of the comments from this blog I can't help but feeling the "US against them mentality". The people presently serving on the city council took office in one of the most auster times.

You would think sound judgement would suggest that if someone had alterior motive to steal, usurp, or gain personal benefits, it most certainly would not be in the worse of times. Financially we could not be in more difficult times, except we continue with this foolishness of tearing down our leaders as they try their best to make a worse situation better.

It seems we find an insipid pleasure in, or gratification in belting out the apparent defficiencies in the course of action taken by our leaders, in many cases with no justification.

My challenge to you all who of such pursuasion, or inclination. Why don't you take the helm of the ship. If you are so perfect, and have all the answers so clear, step forward and grace us with your profound knowledge and expertise. I would be the first one to vote for you. But! until then, why not let us work together to solve common problems affecting all of us. Why not lend support to the people, who were foolish enough to take on the responsibility of leadership in such perilous time. If no other reason than we all have a stake in the success, or failure for that matter. This has to be the most treaterous indulgent, manupolative, selfish, environment, entitled environment I have seen in my life time. We are so high on selfish, egotestical aspirations and so short on plain old fashion LOVE.

I often wonder to myself if I am living in the same country as some of these, or better still am I on the same planet? Beware beloved of the seeds you sow, the fruits are much larger than the seeds may not be as sweet as you would expect.

None of us have all the answers, I would like to believe people are doing their best. The least we can do is to try and build, instead of tear down what little vistages of hope for this beloved country of ours.

My words may be vestiges of a futile plea, and so too it may fall on deaf ears, but be that as it may, we are called to do what little part for the good of all. What "good" are you doing today?

God bless you and God bless America!
(and that is my two cents.)

  2. MAYBE ALL THE OUTSIDE CITY LIMITS UTILITY CUSTOMERS SHOULD SCAN AND E-MAIL THEIR WATER/SEWER BILLS TO THE COMMISSIONERS. THAT WAY THE DAY OF THE MEETING THEY CAN UNDERSTAND WHAT THE PEOPLE OF POLK CITY ARE GOING THROUGH. ITS ONE THING TO SAY HIGH WATER/SEWER BILL, ITS ANOTHER THING SHOWING THE BILL TO SOMEONE WHO HAS NEVER SEEN A POLK CITY WATER BILL. LETS TRY IT. I AM SCANNING MY BILL AND SEND TO ALL COMMSISIONERS. SEND THEM YOUR WAC/SAC BILL ALSO.

  3. Dear Anonymous, LOVE doesn't pay the bills the city keeps raising on us.

  4. When "WE THE PEOPLE" pay out taxes, do our duty as required by law and our so called leaders steal, lose or just plain waste our hard earned money. THEN, our leaders just send us a new and bigger tax bill and think we should just smile and pay it. Sorry man, I am not smiling. I want them to pay and pay big time.

  5. I have a few questions for the council member who wrote the first comment...
Does LOVE hide details when asked specific questions?
Does LOVE smirk at the people it is suppose to represent when those people express concern about monthly utility bills and ask for clarification and/or help?
Does LOVE spend other's money without concern for how it will impact those who pay the bills?
    Is LOVE arrogant and condescending?
Anonymous, you and I have a very different view of LOVE.
Hoping for divine wisdom for Polk City council members, Texas

  8. I don't think you can bargin with or mediate with an acting City Manager that lies. Trudy lied to the County Commission when she appeared before them and then stated later "I might have been a little over dramatic". Over dramatic hell you lied Trudy! Trudy tried to sneek a check to the county on the impact fees knowing the county only would accept payment in full. You and that worthless Mayor Joe are sneeky liars and you both need to pack your bags and move.

  9. Your 2 cents is worth just that if you feel so ashamed of what you say you dont sign your name. All of you anonymous people. We are not living in a dictaorship where you will be shot if you say anything against government. I have stated my grievences in writing and in person to many of our council members and city employees. I have a meeting today to discuss past zoning changes that I am opposed to. Lets put our heads together informally face to face and see if we cant solve Polk City's mess to everyones satisfaction. Compromise is critical or we are heading for a trainwreck.
